The first eight of these are pictures of bog bridges, steps and waterbars as done by the Maine Conservation Corps. The last three show bog bridges done by the Monhegan Trails Committee (Fred Grey) on Trail One and on the Underhill Trail in spots that are always bogs. The lumber looks light, but after a year it will be much less conspicuous. And feet will be much less wet!

Waterbars divert water off of trails to protect them from erosion. Steps do the same and also make climbing easier in steep areas.
